Overview

Dear Colleagues,

We would like to invite you to participate in the European Proficiency Test in Fruits and Vegetables Screening Methods 09 (EUPT-FV-SM-09), organised by the European Union Reference Laboratory for Residues of Pesticides in Fruits and Vegetables on behalf of the European Commission, Health & Consumer Protection Directorate-General (DG-SANTE).

This EUPT is open for all National Reference Laboratories (NRLs) and all Official Laboratories (OfLs) of the EU, and furthermore it is also open for the NRLs and OfLs of the EU-candidate states and the EFTA countries. Participation will be on a voluntary basis

Laboratories outside this EURL/NRL/OfL-European Union Network (laboratories from countries outside the EU) may be allowed to participate on a case-by-case basis after consultation with DG SANTE.

The test item for the EUPT-FV-SM09 will be LEMON homogenate containing pesticides.

The test materials, 200 g of lemon homogenate containing pesticide residues, together with 200 g of 'blank' lemon homogenate, will be shipped to participants on 13th February 2017.
If any laboratories have holidays in the week of the shipment, please inform the organiser to rearrange the shipment as soon as possible.

The deadline fixed for result submission will be 72 hours after receiving the sample.

This year, due to some changes in the website administration, the registration and the forms will be submitted in excel files, sorry for the inconvenience.

The evaluation of this PT will be based on qualitative information, although an estimated concentration will be requested for those pesticides that are detected, only for informative purposes. A target pesticide list will not be provided.

NOTE: If your laboratory participates in the EUPT-FV-19 too, only one bottle of "blank" LEMON homogenate will be shipped for both Proficiency Tests.

VERY IMPORTANT: The deadline for result submission to the Organiser will be 72 hours after receipt of the sample.

Please note that in some cases the documents or the dates could change, new versions updated. In this case, it will be published in our webpage and additionally an e-mail will be sent to the participants for notification. Please, check periodically our website in case the email does not get through to you.

For laboratories participating in EUPT-FV19 this PT will have no cost. For other EU/EFTA laboratories, the sample delivery will be 250 €, and for other countries the price will be 350 €. Regarding payment procedures, each laboratory should specify their details and invoice requests when applying for the test.

Please, do not pay for this EUPT until we send you the invoice. Remember to include your Laboratory Code in the subject of the bank transfer.
